UV pioneer Joachim Jung, managing director of IST Metz, passed away on January 4 at the age of 59 after a short illness. Together with company founder Gerhard Metz, he built IST with vision, flair and passion from its beginnings in 1977 into an international group that now consists of 13 companies and over 500 employees. A tireless champion of UV technology, instrumental in establishing it successfully in the printing industry, his special ability to build and maintain close working relationships worldwide was a great benefit. With a leadership style showing humour and humanity, he was able to inspire colleagues and business partners alike to work towards shared objectives. His optimistic outlook on life had a profound influence on the philosophy and culture of IST Metz and will continue to do so long into the future.
