Germany’s first HP Indigo WS6600 digital press for folding cartons

30 March 2012

Schwabach-based Leupold is the first German folding carton converter to install an HP Indigo WS6600 digital press, together with an Inline-Priming-unit and a fully integrated post-processing workflow.

A full-service provider, supplying well-known customers within the healthcare, cosmetics, multimedia and food industries, Leupold has also installed an ABG Digicon 2 with an integrated Kama Pro Cut and creasing solution for in-house finishing.

“From the toothbrush box to high-end confectionery packaging – the HP Indigo WS6600 Digital Press can produce everything inline and with only one person running the machine,” says Bernd Aßmann, director at Leupold. “With this new solution, we can now increase our flexibility even more and we are able to deliver cartons on demand within only 48 hours and with no additional set-up costs.

The new Inline-Priming-unit (ILP unit) is said to allow HP Indigo users to print on most carton types and make the support of last minute jobs easier and quicker.
