BST International has supplied numerous Premius digital high-end print management systems for installation with W&H flexo and gravure presses could even been increased. For the past two years, the camera platforms of the W&H Easy-Set impression setting system and those of the BST Shark 4000 100% real-time print defect detection system have been closely connected.
This connection gives BST full access to the image processing information from the cameras, and the ability to fully use all the features. This includes special adaptations to customer-specific applications such as adaptation of lighting and shading corrections.
Another advantage claimed over other video print management systems is offered by BST with the combination of area scan and 100% real-time monitoring systems. This allows the operator to select the defective area on the printed web, found by the Shark 4000; and the high-resolution digital Premius 3 chip camera focuses this area directly.
Using this camera’s large zooming capability, the defect can be looked at in detail, assessed and corrected before it has reached a non-acceptable degree. As a result, waste and costs are decreased.
