IST Metz held its second UV Days event recently, at the company's enlarged central offices in Nuertingen, Germany. The programme focused on applications for UV curing in the graphics industry. An exhibition with 24 trade partners, two workshop sessions and company tours provided plenty of information for the approximately 500 visitors over the five-day event.
The first workshop – 'More efficiency in UV printing' - was targeted at printers already using UV. It examined existing possibilities of system optimization to increase efficiency through the application of UV technology in printing. The second workshop, on 'More variety in UV printing', suggested how printing companies can develop new fields of application with the help of UV. The possibilities were demonstrated on the new seven colour Heidelberg Speedmaster CD 102 sheet-fed offset press in the UV Technology Centre at Nuertingen.
Companies taking part in the accompanying table-top exhibition included Ciba Specialty Chemicals, Eckart, Eltromat Polygraph, Novamelt, Sicpa Druckfarben, SunChemical Hartmann Druckfarben, XSYS Print Solutions (BASF Drucksysteme) and Zeller & Gmelin.
