The Alliance to End Plastic Waste Calls for Submissions to Reclaim the Value from Plastic Waste

8 March 2021

The Alliance to End Plastic Waste (the Alliance), an international non-profit organisation, today announces the request for proposals (RFP) for projects that capture the economic value of plastic waste.

As part of the Alliance's mission, it aims to identify, accelerate and scale solutions to help end plastic waste in the environment. Today, $80–120 billion of plastic packaging material value is lost to the economy every year. This represents value that can be reclaimed through recycling, which in turn, can contribute to increasing collection and preventing plastic waste from leaking into the environment.

Submissions must demonstrate large and scalable impact that will help create new market demand and improve the quality for recycled plastic.

As the need for action is urgent, we are prioritising proposals that can reach full-scale operational capacity within three years or less. Proposals can be submitted by public or private entities, for-profit or not-for-profit organisations. The application period runs till 31st July 2021.
