Trueflow SE, now available from Screen, adds the Adobe PDF Print Engine to the established Trueflow PDF and JDF based prepress production workflow. It is said to be capable of managing production to multiple output devices on a single network.
Designed for printers using multiple CTP and digital printing systems, Trueflow SE is said to enhance output consistency throughout the workflow, improving overall print productivity and profitability. It is a full JDF production workflow with automation and tools that can be used by relatively inexperienced operators. It combines the strengths of PDF for content definition and the JDF standard for job ticketing and process control, and automates production from page input to final output by a single 'drag and drop' action.
Trueflow SE maintains all the current features and benefits of Trueflow whilst adding new functionality, such as support for CTP and 'Print On Demand' devices in the same workflow. In addition to handling PDF files, it continues to support PostScript files and expands its JDF capabilities still further.
The Adobe PDF print engine enables jobs to be sent to the output of choice at the latest moment in the workflow. Trapping, colour management and imposition can vary in relation to the output device of choice.
Trueflow SE will replace the current Trueflow 3 range of products: existing users will be able to upgrade seamlessly to Trueflow SE.
