New from Smurfit Kappa Cor-Trade is S-Flute, a lightweight, high performance corrugated packaging board designed to deliver a superior printing surface through its new generation of smaller, finer and stronger flutes. The board is FSC and PEFC certified, and fully recyclable.
According to Smurfit Kappa Cor-Trade, S-Flute allows brand owners to take full advantage of on-pack presentation at low cost. The density of the flute profile is said to ensure that the crush resistance of the finished pack is comparable to heavier and less visually desirable boards.
The print surface is “well suited to modern printing techniques, and the lighter physical weight of the board delivers significant, machine line efficiency, environmental benefits - less wastage and significant carbon reduction through the logistics chain - and savings”.
