Four leading companies that have recently signed up to return to The Print Show this year have spoken openly about how much they value the event and given an insight into what their plans are for the show.

The Print Show 2017 takes place from October 11th to 13th at the International Centre in Telford and with interest increasing in the third edition of the event, floorspace is now at a premium.

Four companies that have secured their spot at the show this year are OKI, RISO, printMAX and Signmaster Systems—all of which also featured at both the 2015 and 2016 events.

Speaking about OKI’s return to the show was Andrew Hall, marketing manager of the OKI Systems UK, who said given its success at previous editions of the show, it was a “simple decision” to sign up for 2017.

“Following the success of the 2015 and 2016 shows, and the launch of further new products in OKI’s portfolio, it was a simple decision to return,” Hall said. He added: “Since the show started in 2015, we have seen growing numbers in both visitors and exhibitors. The quality of attendees is fantastic and leads generated fruitful.”

OKI has slightly altered its strategy this year by opting for a smaller stand at the show, but has also committed to supporting its reseller partners that will also be in attendance in October.

“Our partners Amaya and The Magic Touch will showcase transfer print products the Pro7411WT and new PRO8432WT A3 printers, while the Pro Series light production printers will be on other partner stands, alongside our wide-format Colorpinter range,” Hall said, before adding: “On the OKI stand itself, we will have a Colorpainter, Pro9541 CMYK+ Clear and Pro 9542 white under device.”

Meanwhile, Debbie Callaghan, marketing manager of RISO UK, cited the success of the firm’s appearance at previous editions of the show as the main reason for its commitment this year. RISO has had a presence at The Print Show since its debut in 2015, and Callaghan is confident the company will experience another positive response from visitors this year.

Callaghan said: “RISO was one of the first major manufacturers to sign up to The Print Show back in 2015, and it proved to be quite a success for the company. Footfall was good, and many of the visitors to our stand were there for a good reason. We expect to build on this for 2017.

“The UK market is important to RISO, especially with the growing use of cutsheet inkjet printers in the production print sector. In general, the print sector in the UK is continuously evolving and it’s an exciting time to be in the industry. Therefore, it makes sense to have an annual print show for the UK market and for us to take a stand there.

“The Print Show has proved to be successful for us and we are delighted to support this key industry exhibition again this year. We are still in the planning phase but we can confirm that new products, which have not yet been seen in the UK could well be making an appearance.”

Michael Bolton, managing director of printMAX, was also keen to pay tribute to the organising team behind The Print Show, speaking openly about his pride of being involved with the event since its launch.

Bolton said: “For printMAX, exhibiting at The Print Show again will be about bringing new ideas to both prospective customers and existing customers alike, bringing hardware solutions capable of generating a large range of applications making for sound sense investments.

“We plan to bring wide-format printers such as the CJV that enable companies to hit the ground running and make money from day one with a diverse range of capabilities, this should be high on the ‘must see’ list for visitors attending the show.”

Such is the level of printMAX’s commitment to the event that the company has also thrown its backing behind SignLink Live, a new show that will launch this year and run alongside The Print Show. The Mimaki UJFMkII Series will feature in the ‘Promo Print Alley’ as part of the ‘Profit Factory’—the focused application area of Sign Link Live.

Bolton said: “As part of our commitment to The Print Show and SignLink Live, we’ll be offering free application advice and knowledge in the Promo Print Alley which is part of the Profit Factory—with an eye-opening array of printed products with which to inspire visitors.

“We are proud of our continued support and relationship with The Print Show, and we are optimistic about the possibilities that SignLink Live’s inaugural show can offer, we are all looking forward to the event.”

In addition, Lucy Ratcliffe, who was part of a team that recently completed the purchase of Signmaster Systems, has opted to retain the company’s relationship with The Print Show by signing up to exhibit for the third consecutive year. Now a director of Signmaster, Ratcliffe describes the event as “very important” to the UK print market.

Ratcliffe said: “I think that the event is very important, considering the time of year. Having two sign/print shows six months apart from one another is perfect and the industry is big enough to support both well.

“Since purchasing the business in May, we feel it is really important to have a presence at the show, meet our current and potential customers and reveal the plans we have going forward—which will include a rebrand launch at the show.

“We have also just become a HP reseller and so will be attending with a Latex 365 machine as well as OKI’s new E-64 and Roland’s LEF—our most popular product.”
