In Germany, Brückner has sold its interests in the Kiefel extrusion blown film extrusion lines business to Reifenhäuser for an undisclosed sum. Worms will be the headquarters of the Reifenhäuser Kiefel Extrusion new business unit.
"Through the joining of our technical competencies at the Troisdorf and Worms sites, we have created the world's largest development and know-how pool in this sector and moved to the top of our market", asserts Bernd Reifenhäuser, managing director of the Reifenhäuser parent company. Edgar Gandelheidt, former MD of Kiefel who will now head Reifenhäuser Kiefel Extrusion, adds: "Together, we offer the most comprehensive range worldwide of extrusion lines for blown film applications.”
In 2008, Kiefel and its subsidiaries recorded a turnover of around €40 million. With approximately 200 employees, the company is a leading provider of blown film extrusion lines and other machinery for the production and conversion of packaging films.
Brückner will now concentrate its Kiefel corporate division on thermoforming and welding machines.
