US-based Barry-Wehmiller group company MarquipWardUnited is to acquire Körber's Papersystems companies: ECH Will, Pemco and Kugler-Womako for an undisclosed amount.
The move, pending approval by the respective antitrust authorities, will make MarquipWardUnited's sheeter business, BW Papersystems, the world's leading supplier of sheeting and sheet packaging machinery.
ECH Will Pemco and Kugler-Womako generated combined sales averaging US$125 million over the past five years. The companies have a total of 350 plus employees.
"We are excited to partner with these industry leaders whose expertise naturally dovetails with MarquipWardUnited's," says Barry-Wehmiller group president Tim Sullivan. "This combination presents many exciting opportunities for our customers, our suppliers, and Barry-Wehmiller's 7,600 team members around the globe."
Steve Brimble, VP sales at MarquipWardUnited, adds: "This merger brings the leading names in the sheeting industry under one banner and positions us to increase the scope of products for sheeting and ream wrapping. The combination of these key brands and their technologies ultimately means better products and more comprehensive support of our customers."
