The patent pending Universal Signature spray nozzles from Nordson produce random hotmelt adhesive patterns with dense, uniform coverage for non wovens, and wide and narrow web coating applications.
Continuous random patterns yield consistent bonding, tolerate process parameter changes, and help improve product quality, the company states. Larger adhesive orifices and spraying farther from webs are said to produce superior clog resistance that maximizes production up-time for higher product output. If a single nozzle orifice becomes contaminated, the loss of flow has a negligible effect on the pattern and end product quality, it is claimed.
Each nozzle features multiple orifices said to produce random patterns that blend well without heavy or light areas. Durable all-steel nozzles are available in 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 and full width versions that operate in multiple orientations, including horizontal. Production speed capability is up to 600m/min.
The Signature’s low air consumption is said to reduce compressed air process costs and overspray. Leak-free operation is “guaranteed by the advanced nozzle seal. Compatibility with Nordson Universal modules lowers costs to upgrade existing installations, the company advises.
