29 May 2009

Mercury Packaging, a manufacturer of flexible packaging, has won gold in the Best Small Business category at the European Flexographic Technical Association (EFTA) Awards, which was held at the Royal Armories in Leeds.

Nottinghamshire-based Mercury entered a mailing envelope designed and manufactured for tour operator Travel City Direct. The high strength polyethylene bag was five-colour printed, and featured aquatic themed images promoting the Worlds of Discovery Florida holiday brochure. The pack also included a window for a personalised letter.

Commenting on the award, Adrian Cameron, Mercury’s Print Division supervisor, said: “We are delighted to win this prestigious award. It follows significant investment in additional print technologies and equipment and is further recognition of Mercury’s ability to deliver high quality printed flexible packaging products.

“Using our eight-colour flexographic press, we are able to accurately reproduce even the most complex of designs for maximum brand impact.”
