Delga Press Installs First HP Indigo 12000 HD for Packaging in UK

Delga Press, a specialist packaging print service provider (PSP), has today announced it has purchased the first HP Indigo 12000 HD for packaging in the UK. The upcoming installation will take place at the beginning of April.

As one of the UK’s leading printed packaging suppliers, Delga Press is looking to further differentiate itself from its rivals through use of the Indigo 12000 HD. The company’s move to a digital press will create new opportunities for its customers in terms of personalisation, variable data and special edition work.

The investment will allow Delga Press to dramatically reduce waste, as the HP Indigo 12000 HD allows packaging providers to produce what they need, when they need it. In addition to operating shorter runs, the thick substrate kit will enable Delga Press to run 550 micron board through the press. A flood coating unit will also ensure that the work that is produced is efficiently protected. The stand-out feature of the Indigo 12000, however, is its HD capabilities. Running exceptionally high quality work will allow Delga Press to enter new markets, where quality is paramount.

“Short-run work has always been a challenge in the printed packaging market space, and short-run work with exceptional quality has been almost impossible. Thanks to the HP Indigo 12000 HD, we are delighted to say this is now a thing of the past, and we are pleased to be leading the way as the first UK packaging printer to install one,” says Ian Conetta, Managing Director of Delga Press, “The packaging world moves incredibly quickly and our relationship with HP keeps us at the forefront.”

The HP Indigo 12000 HD offers major innovations in print quality, productivity, and colour matching capabilities, allowing PSPs to print any commercial application—from canvas wall art and high-impact posters, to folders and oversized books — on virtually any substrate.
