Coveris has been announced as Ravenwood’s Approved Printer of the Year. Ravenwood, the world-leading manufacturer of linerless labelling machinery, made the announcement at its annual conference which brings together its machinery distributors and approved printers from across the world to celebrate excellence and innovation in linerless labelling.
As an approved printer of linerless labels for use in conjunction with Ravenwood applicators, Coveris is recognised as delivering optimal print and material quality, performance and presentation. Coveris is the world’s largest manufacturer of linerless labels for Ravenwood applications with a dedicated production site and technical team in Spalding, Lincolnshire.
Linerless labelling is characterised through its non-utilisation of carrier backing paper, resulting in zero backing paper waste and reduced reel weight. Additional benefits include faster and more efficient application, increased surface area print and excellent in-store presentation in various formats. Linerless labels are predominantly used for meat, fish and poultry retail packaging, and emerging in chilled, convenience and produce categories.
Morag Ash, linerless product manager at Coveris, commented: “We are thrilled to be announced as Ravenwood’s Approved Printer of the Year, the second time we have been honoured with this title. It has been an exceptional year where we have collaborated with Ravenwood on a number of exciting projects and continue to advance linerless label technology.”
Natalie Bonner, senior marketing and events Manager at Ravenwood, said: “At our Annual Conference, we recognise the effort that all of our partners bring to the linerless world of Ravenwood. We award our ‘Flying Pigs’ to the machinery distributor and printer who have made the most efforts to bring the technology together in our ‘Circle of Linerless’. Coveris, by adhering to this Ravenwood tried and tested recipe, along with efficiency gains, has won this award for the second time.”
This announcement follows another success for Coveris, winner of the prestigious UV Flexo, Paper and Board title at the FlexoTech Awards 2017 with a linerless label for Aldi’s own brand Nature’s Glen Moroccan Style Lamb Kebabs. The FlexoTech Awards recognise the best in international flexographic print.
