UK corrugated box machinery manufacturer Autobox says sales of its Quick Set box makers and gluers are ‘running at record levels’. To date in 2009, machines have been delivered to Jamaica, New Zealand, Nigeria, the US and Venezuela.

Managing director Barry Tabor observes: “We are seeing that in difficult economic times, box customers are reducing their inventory levels, placing smaller order quantities and demanding shorter delivery times from their box supplier. Many sheet plants are simply finding that their existing converting machinery is unable to meet these new market conditions and have been turning to us.”

Autobox is developing a new version of its Hipak single-pass box maker, which is being designed with the brief of ‘taking quick set short run box making machinery to new levels of performance’.
