Suppliers Flock to London’s Only Packaging Show

Packaging Innovations and Luxury Packaging London 2016, the capital’s only packaging show and the UK’s only event for branded, inspirational and luxury packaging, is set to welcome more than 170 leading international suppliers, many of whom will be introducing new products, services and innovations to the UK market for the first time.

The exclusive two-day event, which returns to London’s Olympia, for its seventh edition, on 14 & 15 September, will enable buyers to discover new ways to improve the appearance of their products, reduce environmental impact or simply find the next iconic piece of packaging.

New Concepts

API will debut its new brand enhancement creative service and holographic foils. While, Vivid Laminating Technologies is set to debut the finishing effects achievable on its Matrix and Easymount systems and its Boss range of lamination film and special effect foils.

Swedbrand will be presenting its next generation technology of bag-in-box wine, called Topflow. This new-patented technology enables the wine to be poured from the top of the bag. A bottom plate, inside the box, is attached to a spring wire that pushes the wine towards the faucet at the top. The plate is easily inserted into any ordinary bag-in-box wine during the packaging process.

Richmond Containers will be launching its range of metal shell closure caps, and off the shelf gloss and matt lids for the beauty and skincare market. These new caps and lids complement its existing luxury range of dispensers, which include airless bottles and pipette droppers.

James Cropper, supplier of the paper for Luxury Packaging 2016’s invitations, will present its first ever food contact-approved stock range of paper. The uncoated paper range, which is available in 12 eye-catching colours, is in response to growing demand for luxury papers within the food industry. The British master papermaker will also demonstrate its tailor-made capabilities and expertise in colour matching live on its stand.

According to Rawlings – Black is the New Amber – with its new type of glass bottle, Black Glass. The colour comes from the glass, not a coating. Its high gloss finish not only increases shelf presence, but its UV light protection acts as a taste protector, extending the life of the bottle’s contents.

KTEC Group will be displaying the LX500e Color Label Printer. Its newest and most affordable desktop colour label and tag printer, which offers 2.5 times the print speed and even better print quality than its previous model.

Tinware Direct will be displaying its innovative, self-sealing tin, Pressitin, which has just been granted a European patent. Whilst, Tesa will be displaying its Lift & Reseal reclosure tape, which provides an effective reseal solution for produce with a short shelf life.

Segura will be using the show to demonstrate its latest cloud-based software, which allows a company to map its full supply network and then track every transaction through the chain, from the moment an order is placed to fulfilment. This gives businesses greater oversight over complex supply chains, enabling them to spot areas of risk or potential cost-savings, and also helps to ensure that products meet safety, ethical and quality standards.

Italian company, Favini will be bringing its full ranges of luxury paper, including its new award winning range of eco-friendly paper, Crush. It has a distinctive flecked texture and appearance, made using the process residues from organic products, such as fruits and nuts, to replace up to 15 per cent of the virgin tree pulp.

Another Italian company, Gruppo Cordenons will be debuting its high quality graphic paper, AstroKing, to the UK market – with a luxurious matt finish, imparting an impression of opulence due to its special shimmering lustre.

First time exhibitor, British Tags will be promoting its complete range of luxury branded packing, including gift-boxes, both flat-pack and rigid, paper and fabric carriers, fabric pouches, cartons and pillow packs, as well as its deluxe acid-free tissue paper. Samples of its glueless-bottomed bags, which double as gift-wrap, will also be on show. It will also display its branded labelling range, including hangtags, badges and woven and adhesive labels.

If it is personalised packaging you are after, head to the JUNG Design stand. It will be showcasing its latest personalised gift wrapping and tissue paper, which will give customer’s products a classy and luxury look.

Trade printer specialists, Revolution Digital, will be showcasing its Roland UV printers, which enable customers to proof packaging on final materials, as well flatbed cutters and desk top foiling.

QuickLabel Systems will be exhibiting its full range of colour label printers for in-house, just-in-time, label production. These label printers allow manufacturers the freedom to print as few labels as they need, and escape the minimum order quantities of the commercial presses. This allows manufacturers the flexibility to trial new products, launch seasonal ranges and design bespoke own-brand produce.

Royston Labels will be presenting its range of self-adhesive labels, which deliver a value-adding option to help make products stand out on shelf. Royston Labels employ a 100 per cent digital inspection on all of the labels it produces, ensuring its products are consistent and can support the requirements of differing industries.

Winter & Company UK will be using the show to reveal the relationships between the colours and textures of its covering materials product range by presenting three new palettes forecasted for 2017. The forecasted trends will be transformed into tactile packaging designs and visitors will have the opportunity to take away their favourite trend.

Antalis will be showcasing its Creative Papers range of fashion led colours, metallics and translucents, modern textures and unusual finishes, which have been developed to help find the ultimate creative solution for all types of luxury packaging.
