Now it's NatureFlex for labels

30 August 2006

NatureFlex NVLC, the first fully biodegradable and compostable film for labels from Innovia, is one of four new materials launched at Labelexpo in Chicago. Certified under the European standard EN13432 and the US ASTM D6400, it has also been tested for ambient compostability, which means it is suitable for home composting. Designed for pressure sensitive labelling applications, it is said to be ideally suited for labelling biodegradable food packs. It is claimed to offer excellent printability, has high clarity for a 'no-label look', high strength and dimensional stability.

The company also launches Rayophane RLC, a regenerated cellulose film designed for use in traditional cut and stack wet glue beverage applications to give a 'no-label look'. “This provides huge benefits to bottlers who want to achieve this look without the major capital expenditure needed to install pressure sensitive equipment,” says the company. Also new is Rayoface WTR, a high performance BOPP white pigmented label film designed for variable information printing (VIP) applications and Rayoface VTR, which has the same top coating as its sister film but on a high yield cavitated white base BOPP film UV stabilized for extended outdoor exposure.
