No frills entry press announced

25 June 2002

A press designed for start-up label printers or for those converters seeking to dedicate presses as an economic solution for solid and text jobs is to be launched at LabelExpo, Chicago, in September. Aggressively priced, Gidue's Quadra is a limited configuration Combat with four colours and die cutting station.

Available in widths of 280, 370 or 430mm and capable of speeds of 150m/min the press cannot be retrofitted to add additional colours or further converting applications. Three metres long, it is available in three configurations: 4 UV, 4 hot air/IR, or 4 hot air/IR + 1 UV.

In addition to first time label printers, many existing letterpress printers are looking for ways of entering the flexo market without a major investment, adds the company. The new press meets this need, it claims. In the case of very competitive price pressure, the Quadra's productivity can help development towards specialized production lines in medium-large size printing companies.
