  • Repeatable, high quality printing of narrow width labels is now said to be possible with a new foam plate mounting adhesive tape developed by tesa. Although manufactured to thickness tolerances of within 50 micron to ISO standard, in reality tape rolls generally fall within 10 micron. This thickness control in a closed cell PE with a "remarkably uniform" cell structure, enables tesa Softprint 52015 "to overcome the problem of print repeat length to deliver fast, accurate and consistent print quality, even over long runs."

  • A mobile unit for anilox rollers is offering a thorough on-site cleaning of rollers up to a width of 3.5m. Flexoclean's service team will drive the FlexMobile all over Europe, giving clients the option of outsourcing the deep cleaning of doctor blades and anilox rollers – which is so crucial for achieving optimum print quality. Companies using the service will no longer need a licence for the storage and use of environmentally harmful cleaning agents.

  • A disposable ink duct liner said to increase press productivity by 50 per cent as it reduces ink change and wash-up by nearly 70 per cent is available from Datex UK. Successfully used in the USA for the last five years, the Wiseduct liners are available to fit most well known narrow web presses, such as Mark Andy, Gallus, Nilpeter and Comco.
