GSE launches InkConnection – a blog about managing inks for professionals working with packaging and labels

The value chains are increasingly service-oriented, and it is necessary to comply with ever more stringent colour quality standards and safety legislation. That means controlling and digitizing processes is the key to staying competitive.
“The InkConnection blog will be a guide to best practice at every step where ink is handled in the value chain. Today’s ink logistics technologies, including dispensing, proofing and software packages, provide solutions for repeatable colour quality, increased press uptime, waste elimination, tracing raw materials, and the simplification of processes from purchasing to inventory management.

InkConnection will provide guidance on managing all ink sets commonly used for labels and packaging, including flexo, gravure, screen, offset, letterpress processes. The first series of posts will look at implementing ‘lean’ manufacturing and management techniques in the converting house in order to create a culture of continuous improvement.
