LabelExpo saw the debut of an opaque white, low-odour UV ink for narrow-web printing from Xsys Print Solutions.
Flexocure XS, an upgrade of the company’s Flexocure Ivory flexo opaque white base, is said to provide more than 70% shrink. Niklas Olsson, the company’s global brand manager said: ”We have conducted tests where speeds went up to 22,500 bottles per hour, with no distortion of the sleeve, and no ink set off or residue in the sleeve shooter mechanism. Flexocure XS has such good adhesion that it totally eliminates the need for primers or over-print varnishes.”
Xsys also launched the CombiWhite XL, which it says provides properties such as flow-out at higher speeds, and no drip-through when standing idle. Also on display at the show was the company’s Flexocure Ebony, which is claimed to be a super-black, high-density UV flexo ink suitable for a wide range of substrates using fine-to-medium anilox rollers.
