XP5000 goes shaftless

19 September 2008

Mark Andy has introduced an updated version of its XP5000 press, fitted with shaftless servodrive, to “increase productivity and flexibility for the cost conscious printer”.

The new press is claimed to combine high productivity with “unmatched drying capabilities” at speeds up to 230 m/min on even the most difficult applications with a robust design that is built for 24/7 operation. Advanced closed loop automatic registration and tension control systems ensure tight process control at high speeds, adding to productivity, the company states.

Another benefit of the shaftless XP5000 is the extra process flexibility it offers, which allows converters to place each print station anywhere in the press line - critical for multi-web use and lamination applications. Its platform design provides capacity for flexo, UV flexo, coldfoil, hotfoil, screen and interstation die cutting, all within the same print line.

With the ability to run a variety of substrates from unsupported film to light board, the press also faetures the Mark Andy’s flexible ‘QC’ platform cassettes, a remote diagnostics capability and an intelligent message centre. It is available with a fully integrated UVT PowerSmart UV curing system.
