UK print specialist Borble is using a Xeikon 3300 press to meet the growing demand for fast turnaround, short run label printing.
“In today's increasingly competitive environment, producing high quality labels is no longer sufficient to differentiate you from your competitors,” says Borble owner Gavin Scott. “Service is what sets you apart. When it comes to short runs, traditional printers just can’t match digital for its cost and flexibility.
“The Xeikon digital presses have taken us to the next level in label printing,” says Mr Scott. “With the 3300 we can deliver top quality labels fast and cost effectively, which enables us to win business.”
Xeikon’s latest offering, the 3500 digital label press, is capable of handling web widths up to 512mm and producing 570m2/hour. It is said to enable cost effective production of volumes beyond 4,000 linear metres using digital technology. With a top speed of 19.2 m/min, the new press features true 1,200dpi resolution and 1,200 x 3,600dpi addressability, delivering ‘photographic image quality’.
The press has five colour stations, four for the standard process colours and one for spot colours. It also uses Xeikon’s new FDA approved QA-I toner, which has been developed specifically for the label market.
