Xaar and TTP form inkjet team

6 October 2003

Xaar is working with The Technology Partnership to develop and manufacture a range of peripherals that will ease system integration and speed up print machine development for its printhead customers. The Xaar branded peripherals will include a modular printhead drive electronics and software system (using a fibre optic transmission link to achieve very high data rates, even with large arrays of greyscale printheads) and a fully integrated pressure controlled ink supply system.

UK based TTP was chosen by Xaar for its extensive expertise in digital print technology development and its track record of turning technology into commercial solutions. The new Xaar branded peripherals will be commercially available in 2004.

Say Ian Dinwoodie, chief executive of Xaar: "We recognized that the lengthy development process caused by the lack of 'off-the-shelf' peripheral equipment was delaying our customers' development time and thereby increasing their costs. Our new ready made peripherals will help them gain a significant head start in their development process by offering fast track machine development and faster delivery to market."
