'World’s first' finishing diecutter for B3-format

26 May 2011

At Interpack, Kama presented what was claimed to be the world’s first flat-bed finishing diecutter for size B3 sheets - a machine developed especially for production of high quality folding cartons with additional visual and tactile features in the digital printing market.

The ProCut 53 F finishes the sheets printed on the HP Indigo 7500 with ‘pinpoint accuracy’, with combined hotfoil stamping and embossing, applies cold embossing and Braille embossing, as well as diecutting and creasing the printed packaging blanks. Changeover from hotfoil stamping to cutting/creasing takes just 10min.

For hotfoil stamping, the output is up to 4,500 sheets/hour, while it can handle up to 6,000 sheets/hour for diecutting and creasing. The compact finishing unit is compatible with the HP Indigo 7500 and Indigo 5500 digital presses, but also can process conventionally printed sheets up to 530 x 400mm.
