Wipak Walsrode has ordered a fully automated plant for manufacturing gravure cylinders from the Bauer/K Walter/HELL Group. The planned production line, including electro-plating, processing, cylinder engraving and storage and transport systems, is due to go live at the start of 2004.
The HelioKlischograph K500 was chosen for its productivity, level of automation and the recently developed XtremeEngraving option. This is claimed to produce quality of a standard "only previously achieved with offset printing". The engraving prepress is also equipped with HelioCom, HelioFormproof and HQH software to enhance text quality.
