Wipak Group opens new films factory in Poland

Multilayer films manufacturer Wipak Group began operations at its new plant near Wroclaw, Poland on 8 October 2013.

According to the Finland-based company, part of the Wihuri Group, the new factory will target further growth in Eastern Europe, focusing on the printing and laminating of high-quality composite films for the food industry and the health care market.

During an opening speech, Wihuri board chairman Antti Aarnio-Wihuri said the opening was: “An important milestone for the development of the Wipak Group.”

According to Matti Rovamaa, Wipak vice president & general manager, the new factory offers ideal conditions to support the Wipak Group’s growth strategy in the rapidly growing East European markets, offering potential for further growth.

Wipak Polska MD Mika Surakka added: “Our packaging materials meet all international hygiene and food standards. “We are closer to our customers, we can extend our service portfolio and respond to individual requests quickly and flexibly.”
