Width under inspection

10 February 2004

Adolf Müller has developed a new generation of wide roll slitters featuring an improved winding system with a shaftless unwind and regenerative braking. An inspection section with a scrap rewinder has a new type of vacuum splicing table that automatically aligns and prepares the head and tail of the film to apply the splicing tape – claimed to be very convenient and accurate.

The machine can be used to search for defects in the web and rewind the rejected material. The winding stations are driven by an electro-mechanical movement said to "smooth out" movement at all speeds. The shear cut slitting section is said to guarantee a good slitting edge even for difficult products.

The drive and transport rollers feature a rubber covering with improved diamond pattern grooves.
