Water based inks for films

14 July 2003

The new Poly Screen Plus series water based ink system from Environmental Inks and Coatings is claimed to achieve improved press stability at lower pH levels. The new inks are said to be more maintenance-free, with lower odour and less amine interaction with high performance adhesives and UV overprints.

Available in surface print and lamination versions, the process inks print cleanly on 900-1,200 line aniloxes, the company states, and are "said to be equally suited to use on both paper and film". Proprietary formula databases are available to match most Pantone colours.
