Vision in focus

13 August 2004

To achieve better understanding of the vision markets in the EU, the European Machine Vision Association has undertaken to collect and collate market data across the entire region. The UK Industrial Vision Association, through director Don Braggins, is actively involved in the working group set up to take on this mammoth task.

He says: "In 2000, the UKIVA published the 'European Vision Sourcebook', which is a guide to the commercial sources of industrial vision technology throughout Europe. In the new project we are aiming to ensure a degree of compatibility with previous data published by the US based Automated Imaging Association. It will take some time to collect the initial data, but in future years it should be easier to keep it up to date. The data will provide an invaluable insight as to the full extent of the vision revolution in Europe."
