Video CD promotes UV/EB health and safety

7 September 2004

In the USA, the Environmental, Health and Safety Committee of RadTech, the Association for UV and Electron Beam Technology, has developed a video detailing safe handling practices for UV/EB curable materials.

Says Maureen Waite, of Sartomer Co, chair of the RadTech EH&S Committee: "This video is a great tool for communicating the safety of UV/EB technology throughout industry. We would like all companies that handle UV or EB curable materials in their workplace — or are considering use of the technology - to obtain a copy. The video can be used internally as part of a supplier company's training programme and sent to customers for use as a training tool in their facilities."

The video outlines proper handling and storage practices, and illustrates the appropriate protective equipment that should be worn when handling UV and EB curable materials. Equipment safety is also reviewed.

Copies of 'UV/EB Curing-A Safe Choice,' the RadTech health and safety CD video, are offered free of charge as a service of the RadTech membership. It will also be distributed at RadTech's new event, uv.eb WEST 2005, next February 10-11, at the Renaissance Hotel, in Los Angeles.
