UV siliconized thermal paper

29 April 2005

With ever present environmental issues in mind, S+E Release has developed a UV silicone coated thermal paper which enables laminators to manufacture self wound labelstock. The T-Liner is designed to reduce costs in transport and storage, as well as waste disposal.

Thermal self wound linerless products are designed for tracking/logistic applications where there is a need for portable or handheld mobile print and display labels. This lower caliper construction enables more metres per reel and fewer roll changes to give maximum efficiencies. S+E says the growth in supermarket self serve price weigh labels with the environmental concerns regarding release liner disposal have driven this development - as well as achieving as much as 65 per cent more labels per reel.

End user markets for this new linerless labelstock concept include postal services, auto supplies and logistics labelling. With the wide range of thermal printers now available, it is said to give the major end users a much simpler and more cost effective label solution as well as being environmentally friendly.

S+E currently manufactures the T Liner in widths up to 1,200mm and at a weight of 75g.
