UPM increases label paper capacity

8 December 2010

Growing demand for label papers has led UPM to increase the production capacity at its Tervasaari mill in Valkeakoski, Finland.

The rebuild of the Tervasaari paper machine 8 will increase the mill’s annual capacity by almost 30,000 tonnes. The work will start in March 2011 and the main part is scheduled for completion in early 2012. The new capacity will come on stream fully during the second quarter of 2012.

The UPM Tervasaari paper mill employs about 400 people and manufactures about 360,000 tonnes of label, envelope and kraft papers/year.
