Ultrasonic strapper seals securely

3 May 2010

Corrugated manufacturer Jaffabox is the first UK company to buy Mosca’s new SoniXs strapping technology. Birmingham based Jaffabox produces millions of boxes every year, and requires fast, efficient end-of-line strapping to cope with its throughput.

The SoniXs replaces the traditional friction seal with a sonic wave for ‘the fastest and strongest seal yet achieved’. The ultrasonic technology is said to offer a consistent seal up to 85% of the tensile strength of the strap, while sealing times are ‘significantly shortened’. It is also possible to change the complete SoniXs sealing head in under 30sec, saving further time during production.

Jaffabox has regularly purchased Mosca machinery in the past, including its MCB corrugated bundler and Uatri automatic strapper. The latest machine, the SoniXs KCK-121, is equipped with a rotary arm stretchwrapper.
