The main trade associations representing the UK packaging manufacturing industry have joined forces with The Packaging Federation. It now represents both major packaging manufacturers as full members and allied trade associations as affiliate members. These include Pro Carton, the Liquid Food Carton Manufacturers Association, The Packaging and Industrial Films Association, and the British Plastics Federation.
Packaging Federation chief executive Ian Dent says: "This is a significant step forward, as it will enable us to address the common challenges facing packaging manufacturers. Although our members battle fiercely with each other in the increasingly competitive markets, those associations having a significant packaging sector interest recognize that external legislative forces are often more effectively addressed collectively."
