Aluminium and alumina producer UC RUSAL plans to invest approximately US$20M in a new packaging foil plant near the city of Dmitrov in the Moscow region. With an overall capacity of 20,000t of packaging foil per year, it is believed that the new plant will increase UC RUSAL’s share of the Russian foil and foil-based packaging market by up to 66 per cent. The construction for the new plant will begin in 2008 with first production scheduled for the end of 2009.
