Toyo Ink America has expanded production of liquid and ultraviolet inks for packaging applications in the North America region.
The company has relocated its headquarters to a more spacious, state-of-the-art facility in Wood Dale, Illinois. The 109,000ft² facility dramatically boosts the company’s production, development and technical support capability by affording room for new equipment, an expanded R&D laboratory and an increase in sales and technical staff.
At the new site, Toyo plans to produce and develop water and solvent-based liquid inks, offset and UV inks and coatings, targeting the flexible packaging, folding carton, bag, foil and label printing markets.
A longtime leader in package and print innovation throughout Asia, the Toyo Ink Group aims to strengthen its position in this sector in the Americas. Last year’s acquisition of Fluid Ink Technology’s flexo, gravure and UV product assets and the establishment of a sales branch in Sao Paulo, Brazil, have boosted demand for these products and a broader support base.
To meet this demand Toyo has been devoting greater resources locally to ramping up its R&D and manufacturing capability for the development of packaging materials, printing inks, adhesives and other speciality polymers.
In addition to the new Wood Dale facility, Toyo in North America has manufacturing and research facilities in Moorpark, California (flexo, gravure and UV inks), Conyers, Georgia (plastics colorants and liquid inks), and a speciality polymers and inks manufacturing facility in Bryan, Texas.
