Exopack Advanced Coatings has formed a successful manufacturing partnership with adhesives and coatings producer Itac, to obtain liquid coatings in large quantities for use on the company’s recently developed printing application film.
Since signing the agreement just over a year ago, Itac had to comply with strict criteria specified by Exopack to establish the process capability and repeatability of the substance production, taking into account the temperature, automatic data acquisition, quantitative filtration and dispersion measurements.
In under a year, Itac has developed a ‘steady state manufacturing’ system, incorporating a statistical process controls system, designed to satisfy tight production guidelines. Key personnel from both companies meet regularly to review the risk minimisation system and discuss future developments.
