Bioriented polypropylene film producer Taghleef Industries (Ti) aims to become Europe's leading producer with a major investment at its plant in Hungary.
The upgrade of an 8.2m BOPP line to 5-layers will increase Ti Europe's current 5-layer film capacity to a total of 60,000 tonnes/year. Due to come on stream at the beginning of June, the line will be equipped with "the most recent technologies for a superior quality of the film produced and for energy saving purposes". The energy savings are predicted to be in the range of 25%.
The company says this new capacity will reinforce significantly its ability to serve the label (specifically IML) and the food packaging industries.The 5-layer film's technical advantages will also be used for other specific non-food applications.
