‘Third generation’ material for sleeves

25 April 2011

Tigersleeve Blanks are direct laser engravable, made of a ‘revolutionary’, patent-pending new material called Paulomeer. Available from from Apex Sleeve Technologies, they are the result of a new co-operation between Ronald van de Meer, Paul van Middelkoop and the Apex Group of Companies.

Described as ‘the third generation material after elastomer and photopolymer’ for manufacturing printing sleeves, Paulomeer is claimed to combine the good ink transfer of elastomer with all the advantages of photopolymer, suitable for all kinds of applications and substrates.

According to Apex, customer trials, where Tigersleeves were set in together with the patented Genetic Transfer Technology for manufacturing metering rolls, led to a significantly higher quality flexo printing, comparable to gravure.

Tigersleeve Blanks are available as thin and classic sleeves, and configured as compressible cushion adaptor sleeves.
