Tactile twosome

8 November 2012

Two new Korsnäs products add a dimension to packaging – they are unusual to the touch.

The new Artisan lightweight white coated cartonboard is a material suited for premium brands. In addition to strength, high printability and design possibilities, it features a silky-soft surface. In contrast, Wave is a stiff white kraft paper with “remarkable” tear resistance. It also has an interesting feel thanks to its rough, crepe-like texture. With its singular tactile qualities, this new product can be typically used for upmarket shopping bags. It is a hardwearing material, resistant to tearing and abrasion. In spite of its wavy surface texture, it is highly suitable for f4-colour printing in flexo and offset.

Korsnäs Artisan is available in 245, 270, 300, 325, 360 and 390g/m² weights and is approved for direct contact with food. Korsnäs Wave is also approved for direct contact with food, and comes in 120, 140, 150, 160 and 200g/m² weights. Both products are made of 100% virgin fibres, with an FSC label.
