Two Vacuumatic RTIS 2 systems have been purchased by Novelis Foil & Technical Products, of Bridgnorth, UK. They are installed in-line on two specialist coating machines.
The RTIS 2 offers "unparalleled" waste management control by the remote firing of marker tabs in the form of adhesive labels onto and overlapping the moving edge of web processes, whenever there are faulty areas detected and prior to reel rewind. Advanced features include an integral miniature thermal printer which makes it possible to identify each fault type with a different code, printed onto the visible area of each label.
Manufacturing engineer at Novelis Andy Bradley says: "This was an ideal system for us as the production lines produce very high profile products for the food and tobacco industry, making it vital for us to have the utmost control, whilst achieving our targets".
