UK manufacturer of vacuum pouches Synpac has completed a £600,000 investment programme in new equipment and technology in response to increased demand from existing customers and interest from potential customers.
Top of the company’s shopping list was the latest (and the company’s third) machine from GN Packaging Equipment. Manufactured in Canada to Synpac’s specification, the equipment was shipped to the Hessle factory where it was installed and commissioned during the factory’s summer holiday shutdown.
Synpac director George Webb remarks: “We had a very tight schedule in which to assemble the machine and get it up and running in just two weeks. Business is very brisk and we had to make absolutely certain that the factory was able to meet our production demands and subsequently our customer delivery deadlines.”
Managing Director Sheila Webb adds: “Today’s UK market demands a top class product and manufacturers simply cannot afford to compromise on quality. Our quality standards are something we are very proud of and our investment in this latest technology will provide even greater consistency in the weld of the finished pack.”
The investment programme also included a French Arvor machine built to Synpac’s specific requirements to convert barrier tubular film into bags. This enables it to offer a double weld for difficult products.
The company has also invested a further £12,000 to improve and expand its despatch area.
