Surfscan

22 July 2008

At drupa 2008, Surfscan showcased the Checkrewinder 100 per cent inspection system, which is used at the final stages of the print process to detect intricate and complex defects. It can be customised using computer programming techniques and installed on any press – even very wide web models – and can pick up the tiniest defect in a crowded print area, the company says. The Checkproof compares digital artwork with the first pulls of the finished print job to identify any discrepancies. It can check for errors down to 0.1 mm in under 60 sec at 600 dpi.
