Supporting overseas effort

30 August 2004

Picon is 'recruiting' companies to join the British Group of Exhibitors at various exhibitions between April, 2005, and March, 2006. The organization is authorized by UK Trade & Investment to allocate and manage grants for new and developing exporters, to help make them more competitive in overseas markets. The grants are available to SMEs, to help towards the costs of their exhibit if they are new to the country in which the exhibition is being held, have never exported before, or have exported less than 10 per cent of turnover during the previous 12 months.

Picon wants to hear from any companies considering exhibiting at the following shows: Polygraphinter 2005, October 10-16, 2005, Moscow; China Print 2005, May 11-15, 2005, Beijing; SPCI 2005, June 14-16, 2005, Stockholm; Grafitalia/Converflex 2005, October 11-15, 2005, Milan. Depending upon the response, it will identify the most popular events and approach UK Trade & Investment for the appropriate funding. The organization has also applied for funding for a technical seminar to be held in China next year, possibly in conjunction with an existing exhibition, such as China Print 2005. SMEs new to export "or just taking the first, tentative steps", should contact business development manager Paul Evans to discuss participation.
