16 December 2009

Nampak Healthcare, the Bradford based printer of cartons and patient information leaflets, is celebrating a successful first year following its acquisition by the Nampak Group. Since it joined the Nampak at the end of last year, the former Storey Evans has seen its turnover rise from £14 million to £19 million, with the creation of 30 new jobs.

More than £4 million has been invested in the Bradford site, with the purchase of a new Komori S40 press and a Heidelberg Diana Pro 114 straight-line crash-lock gluing machine, as well as refurbishment of the factory and offices.

The Komori is already delivering a number of benefits including increased capacity of up to 15,000 sheets an hour in six colours, with the options of coating and full UV specification. It also incorporates a pharmaceutical inspection system for quality control.

Gerard Harford, Nampak Healthcare regional director UK, comments: “Becoming part of the global Nampak Group has brought the business a number of significant benefits. We have acquired extra business which has enabled us to create 30 new roles and give greater security to existing jobs.

“It has also enabled investment in state-of-the-art technology, enabling us to deliver the highest quality products to our customers, backed up by first class service.”

Nampak Healthcare’s Bradford site is now the largest in the company’s Healthcare Division employing 210 people.
