The UK’s Starpack 2009 awards programme has joined forces with the PPMA (Processing and Packaging Machinery Association) to introduce the Packaging Machinery Award of Excellence, and welcomed WRAP (Waste & Resources Action Programme) as overall sponsor of the event.
WRAP is sponsoring both the awards and the Starpack Summit strategic packaging conference. The Packaging Machinery Award of Excellence, sponsored by the PPMA, has been introduced to recognise the essential part the machinery sector plays in ensuring product reaches the end consumer.
The Starpack Awards are organised by IOP: The Packaging Society in association with Packaging Today , sister publication of Converting Today. Alcan Packaging will sponsor the awards, which recognise innovation and packaging excellence in all elements in the packaging supply chain used by the major end user markets.
In addition to the industry awards and conference, Starpack 2009 will includes the Student and Schools Starpack Awards. The whole event will take place in London on May 21, 2009.
