Starna coatings boost digital print

24 November 2006

To provide digital printed products with improved aesthetic and functional properties, Starna Industries has developed Curecoat 1, Curecoat 2, Curecoat 3 and Curecoat XP environmentally friendly, non carcinogenic primer coatings.

Developed in response to customer demands Curecoat 1 is siad to be an excellent adhesion enhancer that also improves rub resistance and imaging properties - and reduces dot grain. Water based, it is suitable for use on most papers and plastics, is easy to apply and provides for ease of wash-up. Available in a concentrate form, it can be applied using wire wound rods, or by flexo, gravure or roll coater.

Curecoat 2 is the same as Curecoat 1, but supplied press-ready, with no mixing required.

For demanding shrinkwrap processes or applications involving the use of high-slip polymers, Curecoat 3 also offers improved rub resistance and imaging properties, and reduced dot grain.

Curecoat XP has been formulated to enable most toner digital systems to function effectively when working with laminate and film material with an OPP, PET, BOPP or PVC top laminate. This coating can also be used as a primer for the company’s CureTec 100/200/300 UV varnishes.
