Spend on silicones

Expanded manufacturing and R&D are key elements of 5-year growth plan for US silicones supplier Bluestar.

The plans include acquisition of a 147,000ft2 former textile chemicals factory in Charlotte, South Carolina (SC), which will become home to the company's two manufacturing sites currently located in Ventura, California, and Rock Hill, SC.

The company also intends to increase staffing in sales, marketing, and technical service. Employment at the new Charlotte facility is projected to increase 25% in the next two years.

Bluestar’s extensive range of silicone technologies includes liquid silicone rubbers (LSRs), high consistency rubbers (HCRs), room-temperature vulcanized silicones (RTVs), fluids, dispersions, release coatings, speciality fluids, resins and antifoam.
