Smurfit Kappa Italy expands corrugated printing offering

1 April 2013

Smurfit Kappa has invested in a new seven-colour high board line printer die cutter for its Lunata plant in Italy.

The paper-based packaging producer describes the print characteristics of the new machine as “top of the range”, with the possibility of up to seven colours and up to 60 lines per cm.

“This is the best machine of its kind currently available in Italy, and is one of a small number available in Europe,” says Smurfit Kappa.

With a client base spanning major national brands, pan-European customers and a wide range of brand-owners worldwide, Smurfit Kappa says its plant in Lunata aims to “leverage its skills in print into the wider corrugated market”, in order to provide higher quality prints at a greater volume.

“Businesses will be given the opportunity to differentiate their products from competitors in an increasingly competitive marketplace,” the Dublin-headquartered company says.

“Products will be given a level of visibility never achieved in this sector, and customers will sell more with attractive and eye-catching packaging.”
